OUR STORY
Ramesh Bandaram and Harikrishna Boga founded the Ardra Seva Foundation driven by a deep commitment to uplifting vulnerable populations in society. Witnessing the struggles faced by orphans and senior citizens—two groups often left without adequate support—they were inspired to create a foundation that would address their unique needs comprehensively. Their vision was to bridge gaps in essential areas such as legal aid, healthcare, skill development, and mental health support, offering a holistic approach to their well-being.
Bandaram’s motivation stems from a belief that everyone deserves dignity, support, and a chance to thrive, regardless of their age or circumstances. Through Ardra Seva, he aims to foster empowerment, resilience, and a community that cares for its most vulnerable members, helping them lead fulfilling lives with confidence and purpose.
The Ardra Seva Foundation is actively involved in several community-focused initiatives aimed at empowering orphans, senior citizens, and marginalized groups. Current engagements include distributing essential supplies to underprivileged children in slum areas, providing skill development training, and offering healthcare and psychological support to those in need. Land Acquisition and Shelter Development
The foundation plans to acquire land to build a shared residential space where orphans and senior citizens can live together. The vision is for each senior resident to become a mentor and guide for the children, providing a family-like atmosphere that fosters emotional and social growth for both.
Sustainable Agriculture
The facility will include gardens for cultivating organic vegetables and fruits. This initiative aims to not only fulfill the nutritional needs of residents but also create a surplus that can be marketed as organic produce, generating income to support the community.
Self-Reliant Community Model
By creating a system where the community can sustain itself through agriculture and other small-scale enterprises, Ardra Seva seeks to reduce dependency on external funding. This self-reliant model envisions the community as a stable, thriving entity where both orphans and senior citizens contribute and benefit, developing a strong sense of belonging and purpose.
Financial Sustainability Through Organic Sales
The foundation intends to label and sell its organic produce to nearby markets, branding it to generate a steady revenue stream. This approach not only supports the residents but also creates “Addhar” (foundation) for long-term financial stability.
